Job Description
“The Frontrunner,” an animated short film directed by Oshi Wanigasekera, is casting two South Asian lead voice-over actors for a paid, non-union production. The film follows an imaginative young girl caught in the middle of her divorced parents’ custody battle. When her dance recital brings their ongoing conflict to a head, the story explores the lasting effects of parental conflict on a child’s identity and self-worth. Voice-over recording will take place in Toronto during September 2026. Natural and authentic South Asian accents based on the actor’s ethnicity are encouraged.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform a lead voice-over role for the animated short film.
- Deliver an authentic and emotionally grounded character performance.
- Participate in an in-person recording session in Toronto.
- Collaborate with the director and production team during recording.
Requirements
- Seeking 2 South Asian lead actors.
- Mother: South Asian female, approximately 40–55.
- Father: South Asian male, approximately 40–55.
- Natural and authentic South Asian accents are encouraged.
- Non-union production.
