Job Description
A non-union short film titled New Mutiny is urgently casting a lead actor, ages 18–24, to convincingly portray a 16-year-old character. Production will film in Los Angeles, California, on August 29–30, 2026. The character, Juliet, is nonbinary. The production especially encourages nonbinary and transgender actors to submit, although actors of all gender identities will be considered. Juliet is cast in their high school production of Romeo & Juliet. Sensitive, thoughtful, and quietly courageous, they carry the weight of rejection from their mother but ultimately choose vulnerability over fear.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform the lead role of Juliet in New Mutiny
- Convincingly portray a 16-year-old high school student
- Deliver emotionally nuanced and dialogue-driven scenes
- Follow direction from the director and production team
- Participate in virtual rehearsals if required
Requirements
- Actors ages 18–24
- Must convincingly portray age 16
- Character is nonbinary
- Nonbinary and transgender actors are strongly encouraged to submit
- Actors of all gender identities will be considered
- Casting will be conducted from submitted tapes with no callback scheduled
Compensation
$150/shoot day, plus a digital copy of the film, credit, and meals
