Job Description

An indie comedy pilot is now casting actors and extras for a SAG micro-budget production shooting in New York City. The production is seeking NYC-based talent for speaking and background roles in a comedic pilot project scheduled to film over multiple days in June.

Both experienced actors and non-actors are encouraged to apply. Selected talent must be available for filming dates and comfortable working in a collaborative indie production environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform scripted speaking or background roles for the comedy pilot
• Follow direction from the production and casting teams
• Participate in on-set filming and rehearsals as needed
• Portray authentic and engaging character performances
• Maintain professionalism throughout production

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be based in New York City
• Must be available for filming dates in June
• Non-actors are encouraged to apply

Speaking Roles

• Pat – Woman, ages 40–60, any ethnicity, acting teacher
• David Hawthorne – White man, ages 30–35, famous photographer, comedy background preferred
• Jason Chu – Asian man, ages 28–35, finance professional type, comedy background preferred
• Grace Kim – Asian woman, ages 26–32, lawyer, lead character’s sister
• Nick – BIPOC man, ages 22–29, acting student

Featured Background Roles

• Korean Mom – Asian woman, ages 40–60, Korean background preferred
• Korean Dad – Asian man, ages 40–60, Korean background preferred
• Lily Jones – White woman, ages 20–30, buzzcut or pixie hairstyle preferred, alternative aesthetic preferred

Background Roles

• College students, ages 20–24, all ethnicities
• Acting student, woman, ages 22–29, any ethnicity
