Job Description
A new independently financed series is seeking non-union writers from Chicago, or writers with a deep understanding of Chicago’s culture, to join an upcoming narrative TV series set to film in Summer 2026. The show will highlight everyday life in Black Chicago through authentic, character-driven storytelling.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with producers and creative teams to shape compelling scripts

• Develop vibrant, original narratives rooted in Chicago’s culture and community life

• Write 30-minute episodic content that blends drama, comedy, and family themes

• Deliver scripts that resonate with youth while honoring traditions and values

Requirements

• Strong writing bio that demonstrates experience and unique voice

• Familiarity with Chicago’s cultural landscape and community life

• Ability to create stories that challenge stereotypes and celebrate creativity, family, and entrepreneurship
