A new independently financed series is seeking non-union writers from Chicago, or writers with a deep understanding of Chicago’s culture, to join an upcoming narrative TV series set to film in Summer 2026. The show will highlight everyday life in Black Chicago through authentic, character-driven storytelling.
Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with producers and creative teams to shape compelling scripts

Develop vibrant, original narratives rooted in Chicago’s culture and community life

Write 30-minute episodic content that blends drama, comedy, and family themes

Deliver scripts that resonate with youth while honoring traditions and values
Requirements

Strong writing bio that demonstrates experience and unique voice

Familiarity with Chicago’s cultural landscape and community life

Ability to create stories that challenge stereotypes and celebrate creativity, family, and entrepreneurship
