Job Description

An independent supernatural horror feature film inspired by Mami Wata folklore is casting Black actresses and seeking crew members in the Atlanta, Georgia area. “The Curse of Mami Wata” is a no-budget production looking for performers for central and supporting roles, along with experienced and emerging film crew across camera, lighting, sound, production, wardrobe, hair and makeup, and behind-the-scenes departments. Filming is scheduled for March 15–21, 2027, in Atlanta.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform a principal or supporting role in a supernatural horror feature film.
• Portray characters inspired by the film’s Mami Wata folklore storyline.
• Collaborate with the director, cast, and crew throughout production.
• Crew members will support assigned departments, including camera, lighting/G&E, sound, production assistance, hair and makeup, wardrobe, or BTS coverage.
• Be available for the scheduled Atlanta filming dates.

Requirements

• Casting Black actresses for Natalie, Emilia, Josephine, and Mami Wata.
• Natalie is the central character and is described as emotionally grounded.
• Emilia is a major supporting character.
• Josephine is a supporting character.
• Mami Wata is described as a powerful supernatural presence.
• Crew openings include Cinematographer/Camera Operator, camera team, lighting/G&E, sound, production assistants, hair/makeup, wardrobe, and BTS.
• Must be available to work in the Atlanta, Georgia area from March 15–21, 2027.
