An independent indie drama short film titled Freedom is now casting multiple lead and supporting roles in Gainesville, Florida, and surrounding areas. The emotionally driven story follows Elias, a young man struggling with PTSD while trying to balance his dreams of attending NYU with the weight of his traumatic past and family responsibilities. New actors, students, and first-time performers are highly encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform emotionally driven scenes in an independent drama production
- Collaborate with the director and fellow cast members during rehearsals and filming
- Participate in dramatic and character-focused storytelling sequences
- Follow production direction and maintain professionalism on set
Requirements
Elias – Male, Ages 19–24
- Casual and relatable personality type
- Must portray emotional depth and internal conflict
- Character struggles with PTSD and unresolved trauma
Daniel – Male, Ages 19–24
- Loyal, grounded, and emotionally supportive character type
- Strong dramatic acting ability preferred
Mother – Female, Ages 30s–50s
- Survivor character with emotional complexity
- Includes a brief, non-speaking flashback sequence
Young Elias – Male, Ages 10–13
- Must be capable of handling emotionally intense dramatic scenes
- Parent or legal guardian must submit application materials
- No professional acting experience or resume required
- New actors and first-time performers encouraged to apply
