A paid, non-union short film filming in the Mississippi Delta is seeking a female actor for the role of Zaina. The production is looking for talent in their 40s–50s who can authentically fit the character’s cultural background and wear a hijab for the role. This is an opportunity for an experienced or emerging actor to join an independent short film production and portray a culturally specific character on screen.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray the character Zaina in a short film.
• Perform naturally and authentically according to the character and story.
• Wear a hijab as required for the role.
• Collaborate with the director and production team during filming.
• Follow creative direction and remain professional throughout production.

Requirements

• Female actor.
• Ages 40–50s.
• Character is hijabi.
• Seeking talent who can authentically portray Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, Arab, Persian, Turkish, South Asian, North African, Middle Eastern, or mixed-ethnicity backgrounds.
• Mississippi- or Tennessee-based actors are preferred, but all performers are welcome to submit.
