Job Description

A new period film exploring the Japanese American perspective during the Pearl Harbor bombing is now seeking a Production Sound Mixer for an upcoming shoot in Los Angeles. The project is led by a director recently selected for Film Independent’s Project Involve, with a cinematographer recognized by ColorCreative’s Find Your People Program created by Issa Rae and Deniese Davis.

The production is looking for a collaborative and experienced sound professional to join a small cast and crew for this emotionally driven historical film project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage on-set audio recording during production
  • Operate and maintain sound recording equipment
  • Capture high-quality dialogue and ambient sound
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure efficient audio workflow
  • Provide sound kit equipment for filming
  • Work closely with the director and cinematographer throughout production

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Production Sound Mixer preferred
  • Must have experience with professional sound equipment
  • Ability to provide sound kit for production
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must provide professional materials and two references
  • Open to applicants from all backgrounds

Compensation Details

  • $250/day rate
  • Additional $25/day kit fee
