Job Description

An uplifting African Gospel music video is casting backup vocal actors for an inspiring live-performance style shoot in Toronto. Selected performers will sing harmonies and light choreography as part of a vibrant, expressive ensemble. The project aims to capture the spirit of unity, joy, and passion through music and performance.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform backup vocals, singing pre-learned chorus and harmonies.

• Participate in light choreography and expressive movement (no heavy dancing).

• Collaborate with the production team to bring high energy and emotion to the performance.

• Attend and complete the shoot professionally and on time.

Requirements

• Must be able to learn chorus and harmonies before the shoot.

• Comfortable with simple coordinated movements.

• Bring a positive and energetic stage presence.

• Open to all genders and backgrounds, ages 18–40 preferred.

• Union Status: Non-Union.

• Talent will receive a song and demo video beforehand to prepare vocals and movement.

Compensation

• Rate: $150 (paid upon completion)

A short film production is seeking a young adult music artist of any gender to portray the emotional journey of a part-time musician striving to balance a full-time job while chasing their dream of making music. This role will capture the highs and lows of the creative process, from frustration to breakthrough moments.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray the struggles of writing, recording, and finishing a song independently

• Act in scenes working with a mentor or producer to bring music to life

• Convey emotional growth and transformation, from frustration to confidence

• Bring authenticity to the character’s journey of artistic self-discovery

Requirements

• Age: 20s–30s

• Comfortable portraying emotional vulnerability and breakthrough moments

• Acting experience is a plus but not mandatory

• Music background (singing, songwriting, or instrumental) is preferred but not required

• Must be available for scheduled shoots

Compensation

• $200 total, paid upon completion of shooting
