The Loves of Others Stage Production

Job Description

An upcoming stage production is casting five principal roles for a powerful new play. This paid theater casting call is seeking talented actors for a professional production that will rehearse in Manchester and perform in multiple venues. The production offers a guaranteed fee, profit sharing, and travel coverage for select performances, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced performers looking to join a compelling ensemble.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform one of the featured principal roles in a live stage production.
  • Attend rehearsals with strong availability throughout the rehearsal period.
  • Collaborate with the director, cast, and creative team to develop the production.
  • Perform in scheduled theater performances across multiple venues.
  • Maintain professionalism and reliability throughout rehearsals and performances.

Requirements

  • Seeking actors for the following principal roles:
    • Max: Male, late 30s to 40s, White, Scouse. A physically intimidating alpha male with a troubled past and complex emotional struggles.
    • Tina: Female, late 30s to 40s, open to all ethnicities. A survivor of childhood abuse who presents herself as glamorous while hiding deep emotional pain.
    • Dave: Male, late 30s to 40s, White. Friendly and optimistic, with a quiet upbringing and an enduring belief in love.
    • Ike: Male, late 30s to 40s, Black. A character navigating identity after growing up in a predominantly white working-class community.
    • Vic: Female, 20s, Black. A guarded young woman shaped by family trauma who longs for meaningful connection.
  • Strong acting experience for live theater is preferred.
  • Good availability during the rehearsal period is required.

Compensation

  • Guaranteed flat fee of £800.
  • Additional profit-sharing opportunity.
  • Financial agreement provided upon casting.

Theatre Actors for Noel Coward’s Private Lives

Job Description
A stage production of Noel Coward’s Private Lives is casting two roles for an upcoming tour. This is a fantastic opportunity for professional actors with strong comedic skills to perform in a classic play directed by Amy Gavin, with performances scheduled at Hope Mill Theatre and The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform as one of the lead characters in Private Lives

  • Collaborate with the director and cast during rehearsals

Requirements

  • Male actor (30s–40s, any ethnicity) for the role of Elyot Chase: a wealthy, divorced man who encounters his ex-wife while honeymooning with his new bride. Must excel in farce and physical comedy.

  • Female actor (20s, any ethnicity) for the role of Sibyl Chase: a lively and energetic first-time bride on honeymoon with Elyot. Requires strong comedic skills and confidence in physical performance.

  • Availability for in-person casting, photoshoot, rehearsals, and full performance schedule

  • Strong comedic presence with comfort in farce and physical theatre

Compensation

  • £2,000 flat fee per performer

  • £200 weekly subs provided during Lancaster performances
