FilmGate Miami is seeking talented actors for an upcoming live table reading event featuring multiple independent film projects. Selected performers will participate in staged script readings before an audience of filmmakers, writers, producers, and industry professionals. Featured projects include Graveyard Shift, Project Ballroom, and Chamito, with a variety of speaking roles available for performers of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform assigned character roles during a live table reading.
- Interpret scripts and deliver engaging character performances.
- Collaborate with writers, directors, and fellow cast members.
- Participate professionally in rehearsals and event activities.
- Network with filmmakers and industry professionals attending the event.

- Miguel: Male, mid-20s, ambitious Argentine immigrant.

- Zack: Male, teen, neighborhood troublemaker.
- Customer: Male, mid-30s, mysterious late-night customer.
Project Ballroom
- Mickey: Male, age 25, HIV/AIDS outreach worker.
- Pa: Male, 40s, charismatic but controlling boyfriend.
- Jessi/Tamara: Female, ages 30–40, dual-role character portraying two influential women.
Chamito
- Percy: Male, 20s, undocumented Venezuelan immigrant and aspiring singer.
- Rey: Male, 40s, immigration official.
- Ivan: Male, 20s, rebellious free spirit.
- Yuri: Male, 30s, witty bartender.

Applicants should be reliable, comfortable performing in front of a live audience, and able to bring depth and authenticity to their characters.
