My Fair Lady – Theatre Auditions (Stage Production)

Job Description
A community theatre production of My Fair Lady is holding in-person auditions for multiple principal and ensemble roles. Performers should be comfortable with musical theatre staging and character work, and ready to join a full production run in early 2026. Auditions are open to performers of all backgrounds, and actors with disabilities and all ethnicities and gender identities are encouraged to audition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Audition with prepared vocal material and participate in potential readings

  • Perform live on stage in a musical theatre production (principal or ensemble)

  • Attend rehearsals and collaborate with cast, director, and music team

  • Follow direction for vocals, staging, blocking, and character choices

Roles

  • Eliza Doolittle (Lead, female-presenting, 20–30) – Strong-willed Cockney flower seller; vocal range A3–G5

  • Henry Higgins (Lead, male-presenting, 35–60) – Renowned phonetics expert; vocal range B2–E4

  • Colonel Pickering (Supporting, male-presenting, 50–70) – Former British officer/author; vocal range C3–D4

  • Freddy Eynsford-Hill (Supporting, male-presenting, 20–30) – Upper-class young man, falls for Eliza; vocal range C3–F4

  • Alfred P. Doolittle (Supporting, male-presenting, 50–70) – Eliza’s boisterous father; vocal range G3–E4

  • Harry (Featured, male-presenting, 30–60) – Friend of Alfred P. Doolittle; vocal range Any

  • Jamie (Featured, male-presenting, 30–60) – Friend of Alfred P. Doolittle; vocal range Any

  • Mrs. Pearce (Featured, female-presenting, 40–60) – Higgins’ housekeeper; vocal range E4–G4

  • Mrs. Higgins (Featured, female-presenting, 60–80) – Henry’s mother; non-singing

  • Ensemble (All ages) – Cockney men and women, townspeople, servants, stewards, lords, ladies; vocal range All

Requirements

  • Must be able to attend in-person auditions in Largo, Florida

  • Prepare 16 bars of a song in your key (pianist provided; no a cappella or recorded music)

  • Wear or bring rehearsal-appropriate attire (no sandals/flip-flops)

  • Bring headshot and résumé (if available)

  • Be prepared to share any rehearsal conflicts

  • Comfortable with potential cold readings from the script

Compensation

  • Unpaid (community theatre production)
