Job Description
A non-union independent dark comedy and fantasy short film is casting paid lead and supporting roles in the Greater Austin, Texas, area. The story follows two middle-aged female fugitives who take a mysterious de-aging pill in hopes of escaping the law and experiencing one last wild night as young women, only to find themselves facing an unexpected chance at redemption. Casting is seeking performers who can balance comedy, fantasy, friendship, and emotional character work while bringing distinctive personalities to this unconventional story.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform a lead or supporting role in a dark comedy fantasy short film
- Bring scripted characters and relationships to life with believable performances
- Deliver both comedic and emotionally grounded moments
- Collaborate with the director and fellow actors to develop authentic character chemistry
- Follow creative direction and maintain performance continuity between takes
- Participate professionally in rehearsals and filming as required
Requirements
- Young Penny: Female, early 20s, blonde, Caucasian; sharp, strategic, and driven, with an underlying sense of guilt
- Young Lana: Female, early 20s, brown eyes, dark hair, mixed-race or Caucasian-presenting; bubbly, impulsive, fiercely devoted, and energetic
- James: Male, early 40s, Caucasian, brown hair and brown eyes; lively, young at heart, impetuous, and deeply loyal
- Strong acting ability and comfort with dark comedy and fantasy material
- Able to portray layered character relationships and emotional shifts
- Professional, collaborative, and able to follow creative direction
- Able to work in the Greater Austin, Texas, area
Compensation
