An independent proof-of-concept short film for an upcoming feature is casting two lead actors for a performance-driven project. This production focuses on raw, character-centered storytelling and is ideal for experienced actors who thrive in improvisational work. The film explores communication, power, and vulnerability in unfamiliar environments, requiring strong instincts and emotional range.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform lead roles in a dialogue-light, character-focused short film

• Improvise within structured story scenarios

• Act phonetically in an unfamiliar language as required by the script

• Collaborate closely with a minimal cast and crew

• Perform in remote outdoor locations while maintaining character authenticity

Requirements

• Strong improvisation skills required

• Ability to act phonetically in a non-native or unfamiliar language

• Comfortable working with a minimal crew and remote filming locations

• Must be adaptable, professional, and reliable on set

• Ability to perform physical actions as required by the role

Available Roles

• Gabby: Female, ages 35–45. Confident and professional, sophisticated yet out of her element. Accustomed to control and challenged when that control slips away.

• Ed: Male, ages 65–75. A rural legend who suffers no fools. Hands-on, grounded, and resilient. Must be able to drive safely and perform light physical work.
