Job Description
“The Great American Make-Off” is casting talented makers, builders, welders, fabricators, mechanics, machinists, engineers, and hands-on creators for a new competition series on a major streaming platform. The show will put contestants’ practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to the test as they compete for the title of America’s Ultimate Maker and a $100,000 grand prize. The casting is open to experienced tradespeople as well as self-taught makers and lifelong hobbyists. Professional trade certification is not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Compete in a televised maker and building competition.
- Complete hands-on building, fabrication, engineering, or mechanical challenges.
- Demonstrate creativity, practical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Work under competition conditions and follow production instructions.
- Showcase relevant building, welding, fabrication, mechanical, engineering, or maker skills.
- Travel as required for production.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older.
- Open to makers, builders, welders, fabricators, mechanics, machinists, engineers, and tinkerers.
- Self-taught makers and lifelong hobbyists are encouraged to apply.
- Must have genuine hands-on building, making, fabrication, mechanical, or related skills.
- Must be willing to travel for production.
Compensation
- Contestants compete for a $100,000 grand prize.
- Production-related travel expenses are covered.
