About A Jazzman’s Blues:
After getting a deal with Netflix for his most recent film A Fall From Grace, Tyler Perry is partnering with the streaming giant for his next film. According to reports, Tyler Perry will direct A Jazzman’s Blues, with actors Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer on board to star. Tyler Perry will also write and produce the movie with Michelle Sneed executive producing the project.
The film is reportedly a passion project for Tyler Perry. Perry has been trying to make the movie for over 20 years and it was the first screenplay he ever wrote. Set in 1937 to 1987, the story follows an investigation into an unsolved murder, which reveals forbidden love, lies, and a secret that has been held for over 40 years. The movie will film in Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and will be released on Netflix this year.
“I have waited a quarter of a century to tell this story, and now is the perfect time and Netflix is the perfect partner,” Perry said.

Tyler Perry Studios is looking for dancers local to Atlanta, Georgia for an upcoming feature film.
To participate in the OPEN CALL for “A Jazzman’s Blues” dance auditions, you must:
- – Be available for in-person auditions on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 12pm to 5pm ET
- -Must be available in the Atlanta area between April 15th and May 29th.
