Nia Long shares incredible acting tips.
Nia Long first made her big-screen debut on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She would later win her first AACP Image Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Then, she would make her feature film debut in John Singleton’s Oscar-nominated film, “Boyz In The Hood.”
Since then, she has worked on several hit movies including Soul Food, The Single Moms Club, The Best Man and Big Momma’s House. At the end of the day, Nia Long is no stranger to Hollywood and the film industry.
Recently, she sat down with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation to discuss her experiences in Hollywood. She opened up about a failed TV pilot she worked on and how she decided to take on the production even though she knew it was a bad idea. She also explains the obstacles she had to overcome as a darker skinned actress and how casting directors, and producers would often times sideline her for acting opportunities.
