His movies have sold out box offices time and time again. Recently, Kurt Russell sat down with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation to discuss his latest production, Deepwater Horizon.
Based on true events, DEEPWATER HORIZON follows the heroes who helped save lives from inside one of the biggest man-made disasters in history. Directed by Peter Berg, the film follows Mr. Jimmy (Kurt Russell), the captain of the vessel, and electrician Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) who are called into action when an explosion on board kills 11crew members and leads to a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The cast also includes John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien and Kate Hudson.
In the video, Kurt Russell share some pretty incredible acting tips for aspiring actors and trained professionals. Kurt Russell talked about meeting with trained oil rig workers and the person he was supposed to play in the movie. He explains how meeting the real life person before filming is crucial to creating a good character on screen.
