Millie Bobby Brown reveals she almost quit acting before landing a role in Stranger Things.
The 13-year-old British actress confessed she almost quit her day-job before landing the lead role of Eleven in the Netflix series.
Millie has since filmed two seasons of the online drama, the second of which has aired in October to the excitement of Stranger Things fans.
She landed the role of the telekinetic prisoner obsessed with waffles aged just 12 while at an audition in London.
Millie opened up on her apprehension prior to committing to becoming Eleven and told Variety Magazine: “I felt at one point I couldn’t do it [acting] anymore, but then I got this and everything changed.
“Acting is like breathing to me.”
Talking of mastering her new role as a psychic, she added: “It was like a bug. I know this sounds crazy, but once I find something I want to do, nobody’s stopping me.
“If I don’t know how to sew, and I really had that passion to sew, that’s it, I’m going to sew. That’s also with acting. So here I am.”
Millie had no problem when she was told she would have to shave off her hair for her groundbreaking role. Showing her commitment to the cause, she quickly agreed – yet it did go to well with her mom.
Millie said: “I was like ‘Mum, let’s just cut it off, it grows back, it’s not permanent and I need to show how much I’m involved with this character and how much I’m involved with the show.”
Before landing a role in Stranger Things, Millie built up an impressive CV during her time in the industry, including Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family – even before bagging her role in Stranger Things.
