Jennifer Aniston reacts to changes in the Entertainment industry

Through the ups and downs of her career, Jennifer Aniston has managed to find success. 

Jennifer Aniston is an American actress, producer, and businesswoman. The daughter of actors John Aniston and Nancy Dow, she began working as an actress at an early age with an uncredited role in the 1987 film ‘Mac and Me.’ Her first major film role came in 1993 with ‘Leprechaun.’ Since her career grew in the early 1990s, Aniston has been one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. Aniston rose to international fame for her role as Rachel Green on the television sitcom ‘Friends’ (1994–2004), a role which earned her an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. 

She speaks candidly about how all these experiences informed who she is today while also providing insight into what others can learn from them too.

Aniston has been in the industry for years, and she attributes much of her success to a coach who helps prepare actors before they hit set. “I always forget that I’m not just doing funny stuff,” said Aniston while telling us about one particular role on ‘The Morning Show’ where it weighed heavily on her. Her coach did help her to leave the emotions on set. 

“I was the girl next door, the damsel in distress, the brokenhearted — your traditional rom-com themes. And at a certain point, it was like, ‘Can’t we do something else? Am I just on this part of the cereal aisle? Like, will I ever get to be a bountiful Kashi or some sort of oatmeal, or am I going to be Fruit Loops forever?’ And then you start to doubt yourself. ‘Maybe I can’t? Maybe there’s a reason that no one [is giving me these opportunities]?’ Now, so much is self-generated, which is great since I wasn’t going to get the jobs I’m really interested in because the industry isn’t secure enough to say, ‘Yeah, let’s try it.’ They go for the actors they know can play the fancy dramatic roles. But there are still certain directors I’d love to work with, ones who have their pick of who they like, and sometimes I want to go, ‘I’d love to be part of that club.’”

She has also been in a relationship with actor Tate Donovan and model Paul Sculfor. Aniston has two children, daughter Emma with Theroux and son Ryder with Pitt. Aniston is one of the founders of the production company Echo Films. In 2012, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
