The Hollywood industry may not be all what is cracked up to be. Well at least to Robert Pattinson.
Robert Pattinson is speaking out about the lesser-known side of fame in the latest edition of Spanish GQ magazine.
“It’s strange, you don’t have a normal life anymore. You spend much time trying to fight it, but in the end you find another way to live,” he explained when asked about what being a bona fide movie star really means.
“People don’t realize how lonely you are. In any case, I feel fortunate because success didn’t reach me very young, at least, I had the opportunity to have a life before.”
He added, “When you become famous, it’s easy for some people to hate you just because you are famous. That’s why, sometimes, you beat yourself up.”
And now that R.Pattz is 27 years old, and he describes the change from childhood into adulthood while becoming famous.
“I don’t know, I think it’s only the age. It’s strange, you start changing, childhood finishes and, suddenly you feel that even your physique is different, you feel heavier.”
The Twilight star also revealed to the magazine that the pandemonium surrounding the vampire films completely caught him off guard.
“I lived in a small apartment when the premiere arrived and didn’t even know if the sequels would be made,” he admitted. “Then came the weekend of the premiere and it was, ‘Oops, now we must do the sequels.'”
But seeing as though the actor is now one of the most recognized names in Hollywood, he’s trying to get more comfortable with being in the limelight.
“Before I didn’t like that the image of myself with a big ego, but now I do,” he joked. “Now I have a big ego.”
