Get ready for a thrilling new reimagining of ‘X-Files’! Series creator Chris Carter announces that acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler is set to revitalize the classic science fiction show.
Reports indicate we may soon get a refreshing take on The X-Files courtesy of acclaimed director Ryan Coogler. Ryan Coogler first made a splash in the film industry with his self-produced movie Fruitvale Station and has since risen to great heights of stardom for such films as Creed (2015), Marvel Studios’ Black Panther (2018), and its sequel coming out in 2022 titled Wakanda Forever.
During an interview on CBC’s On the Coast podcast, The X-Files creator Chris Carter mentioned Ryan Coogler’s plans to “reboot” the popular Fox series.
“I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast,” Carter proclaimed. “So he’s got his work cut out because we covered so much territory.” Although it hasn’t been confirmed, Carter’s statement indicates that Ryan Coogler has something in the early works.
In 2018, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson took up their traditional roles as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully – a momentous occasion for fans waiting to see them back in action. The X-Files, a pop culture phenomenon since its launch in 1993, returned to the delight of fans with Season 11.
