Tyler Perry’s New Movie ‘Top of the Food Chain’ To Film in Georgia

Date:

Tyler Perry is taking over the film industry.

Perry’s latest movie Boo! A Madea’s Halloween earned over $70 million in the box office after only filming for six days in Atlanta, Georgia. Now, according to reports, Tyler Perry is getting ready to film his new movie Top of the Food Chain in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tyler Perry’s production company, 34th Street Films, will produce the action comedy and has named Jim Kehoe and Brian Kehoe to direct, according to Variety. Producers will include Tyler Perry Studios’ President Ozzie Areu, Matt Moore and David Kang.

Chris Cowles, Chris Fenton and Dan Mintz are executive producers on the film.

Top of the Food CHain is described as “City Slickers” meets “The Revenant” and centers around a group of suburban guys who venture into the wilderness only to meet a disgruntled bear.

This news comes after Lionsgate Entertainment announced it has signed on for two more Tyler Perry movies, including another Madea feature film.

Tyler Perry is also working on a remake of the 2014 body-switching film called “Miss Granny.” Miss Granny was a hit in the Korean box office. The movie centered around a woman in her 70s who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after having her picture taken at a mysterious photo studio. After opening in theaters in 2014, over 8.65 million tickets were sold.
