Valhalla Film Studios is starting construction in Atlanta, Georgia
The acting bug is very contagious and it seems to be spreading from the acting community the entrepreneurs.
According to Crossroadnews, Valhalla Film Studios is transforming their former warehouse into a state-of-the-art movie studio. The studio is quickly transforming the property they purchased only a few months ago.
The movie studio will be built south of East Atlanta Village, between Moreland Avenue and Interstate 285.
Purchased for $6.7 million, the 53-acre property houses a century-old brick schoolhouse, which will be converted into offices, and a 175,000-square-foot warehouse, which will become the production offices.
Nine sound stages are planned and Valhalla Studios plans to create the “largest sound stage in Georgia shooting films and television shows,” studio principal James Schulz told CrossRoadsNews. He added, perhaps optimistically, “We are going to create the best studios in North America here.”
However, Valhalla Studio’s ambitious plans come with a hefty price tag.
According to reports, it is going to cost $70 million to get the studio up and running.
Schulz and local leaders envision the studio will help develop future homes, retail and even hotels in the East Atlanta Village area in order to serve the film crews, movie stars, and producers using the facility.
