Here’s what we know about the all-woman Ocean’s 11 reboot so far.
The all-woman Ocean’s 11 is ramping up production after casting directors held auditions for lead roles in the movie. Currently, the two biggest names attached the movie are Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, which means there are either four to seven left to join the feature film.
According to ComingSoon.net, Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter have officially joined the movie, which they describe as a “continuation of the George Clooney-led films, with Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister.”
With help from her right-hand woman (Blanchett, playing the equivalent of Brad Pitt’s Rusty), she’ll form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.
I think it’s kind of ironic that the female cast is going after a necklace while the guy-version is going after millions of dollars in cash. But, I’m pretty sure box office analysts have analyzed what female audiences would like to see in an action movie.
