Atomic Blonde‘s David Leitch to direct Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs and Shaw.
The Fast & Furious franchise is about to get a lot more exciting. According to Entertainment Weekly, David Leitch (Deadpool 2) has officially signed on to direct the untitled Fast & Furious spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, about their respective characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. The movie hits theaters on July 26, 2019 and is rumored to be called Hobbs and Shaw.
Leitch, who directed Atomic Blonde and co-directing John Wick, has been the rumored director for months. He will direct the script written by Chris Morgan, who has written six installments of the Fast and Furious series.
The 8 Fast & Furious movies have earned over $5.1 billion worldwide for Universal Pictures.
