Get ready ‘Fast and Furious 8’ is coming soon to theaters.
‘Furious 8’ will hit theaters on April 14, 2017 according to reports. Vin Diesel confirmed to an excited crowd at Universal’s CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas earlier this week.
From Variety:
Choking back tears, Diesel told the crowd of theater owners, “It means a lot to me to get your blessing.” He took the audience back to two years ago when, on the same stage at Caesars Palace, Diesel and Paul Walker, the actor who died in a 2013 car crash, said they planned to move forward on a seventh film in the action franchise.
“We were giddy and excited,” said Diesel. “You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love.”
Following Paul Walker’s death it was rumored that Universal would pull the plug on the billion dollar franchise. However, money speaks louder than words. ‘Furious 7’ has hit $1.15 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the number 7 on the highest-grossing films of all time. It’s likely to end up with more than $1.4 billion before any video sales, merchandise, or any other by products of the feature film.
But, it begs the question? Will Paul Walker’s character make a return to the franchise? Details surrounding the plot of ‘Fast and Furious 8’ have not been released however, we will keep you updated on all the latest news, casting calls, and crew opportunities.
