Jonah Hill reveals all of the fake Wolf of Wall Street cocaine put him in the hospital.
In the upcoming feature film War Dogs, Jonah Hill plays an arms dealer selling weapons in Afghanistan alongside MIles Teller. However, Jonah Hill’s most dangerous role was in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street. The movie was so dangerous he almost landed in the hospital because of all of the cocaine related drug scenes.
While appearing on HBO’s Any Given Wednesday With Bill Simmons to promote War Dogs, Hill revealed that his role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street required him to snort so much fake cocaine that he actually need to go to the doctor. As Hill explained to Simmons:
“I did so much fake cocaine in Wolf of Wall Street I got bronchitis for three weeks and had to be hospitalized. It’s vitamin powder, but it doesn’t matter, because if you ingest that much matter into your lungs, you’ll get very sick, and we were just literally doing fake coke for, like, seven months, every day. I never had more vitamin D in my entire life. I could have lifted a car over my f***ing head!”
Due to the large amounts of fake narcotics ingested through the nose by both Jonah HIll and Leonardo DiCaprio during Martin Scorsese’s hit movie, it’s not hard to believe that such behavior led the actors to seek medical attention. And it’s also not the first time Hill has mentioned that his faux-cocaine habit proved problematic onWolf’s set.Two years ago, Hill explained to The Guardian, that his health problems were more than worth it:
“I snorted so much of that stuff that I got, like, bronchitis!… My lungs were filled with powder and I got really sick for a month and a half. But, I mean, I’d do it again in a second. The first time you snort fake cocaine in a Scorsese movie you feel like… I don’t know! I got embarrassed because I said that it’s every actor’s dream. I guess it’s not, but to me, it’s a pretty iconic thing to do.”
