If you are a fan of Lost and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you might know the beautiful and talented Evangeline Lilly. Well, it looks like we are going to see less of this star on the big screen as she has decided to take an early retirement from Hollywood.

It’s Not a Goodbye, Rather a Pause

The 44-year-old actress recently took to her Instagram to announce that she is “stepping away” from her acting career. Lilly seems pumped about this new chapter of her life. Don’t worry too much though, she hasn’t completely closed the door on Hollywood. She says she might return if a suitable opportunity comes knocking on her door.

The Star of “Lost” and Marvel Cinematic Universe

You might remember Lilly playing the role of Kate Bishop, not to be confused with Hawkeye, in the cult classic television series “Lost”. She was so exceptional in her role that it earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Marvel fans, on the other hand, would recognize her as Hope van Dyne or Wasp, from the Ant-Man film series and Avengers: Endgame.

Lilly’s Departure from the Limelight: An Instagram Announcement

Lilly expressed her joy about her decision to step back from the spotlight by sharing a post on Instagram. She said, “I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings. Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, and I AM READY…and I AM HAPPY.”

Lilly was passionate about her decision, and her fans showered her with nothing but love and support. Many even asked her to continue with her convention appearances, even if she’s not actively acting.

What’s Next for Lilly?

While Lilly may be taking a step back from Hollywood for now, this doesn’t mean she’s completely done with acting. Her latest project, according to her IMDB page, is “Happy Life”, a romantic comedy currently in pre-production. In it, Lilly, alongside Alexandra Daddario and Ike Barinholtz, will depict the life of a woman embarking on a journey of self-discovery after suspecting her workaholic husband of having an affair.

So what’s the takeaway from Lilly’s early retirement? It seems she is looking to explore aspects of life outside of fame and wealth. While this is surely a loss for Hollywood, we can only support and applaud her decision to find fulfillment elsewhere. Which is why we’d love to know how you feel! What are your thoughts on her decision to retire early? And do you think we might see her on the big screen again? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
