Walt Disney finally removes confederate flag from display in Epcot.
According to reports, the confederate banner was removed from a display in Epcot’s American Adventure. A version of the Confederate flag was removed from a flag display only days after a Bill Cosby bust statue from its Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza after the park closed Tuesday night.
The Confederate flag was among 40-plus flags that are on display in Epcot as part of a display of flags throughout United States history.
Visitors to Disney’s Epcot center would be able to watch a show that takes guests through America’s history, making references to slavery and the Civil War.
On June 17th, nine South Carolina black church members were gunned down by Dylann Roof, which caused Gov. Nikki Haley to call for the flag to be removed from the state’s capital’s grounds. On Wednesday, the state’s House approved the flag’s removal.
