Fox is putting their money where their mouth is as the studio is already planning for a second Deadpool movie.
According to reports, the original writers for Deadpool are currently writing the script for a follow-up, which has already been greenlighted.
The fact that a sequel is in the works should not be a surprise at this point. Deadpool is tracking to open to at least $65 million over the upcoming holiday weekend with some estimating over $70 million.
Deadpool’s original director Tim Miller has not signed on to direct the sequel, however, plans are set to keep the creative team together.
Deadpool is an R-rated action comedy based on an over the top Marvel Comics character who is part of the universe of X-Men heroes, to which Fox owns the license.
