Netflix’s New Releases for July 2024: Highlights and Full List
July 2024 is packed with exciting new releases on Netflix, including the return of Axel Foley, a new animated film from former Studio Ghibli talents, a riveting documentary on “rooftoppers,” and the final seasons of three major series. Highlighted Releases
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Detroit detective Axel Foley is back in Beverly Hills for the fourth installment of the Eddie Murphy-led franchise, releasing on July 3. Foley teams up with a new partner, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to save his daughter (Taylour Paige). Expect appearances from franchise regulars and newcomers like Kevin Bacon.
The Imaginary
Arriving on July 5, this animated feature from Studio Ponoc, founded by former Studio Ghibli staff, is directed by Yoshiyuki Momose. The film, based on A.F. Harrold’s novel, follows a young girl’s imaginary friend who strives to save their relationship.
Vikings: Valhalla – Final Season
The epic saga concludes with its third and final season on July 11. Follow Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, and Harald Sigurdsson as they navigate the riches of the Byzantine Empire. New characters, including Maniakes (Florian Munteanu) and Erik the Red (Goran Višnjić), join the cast.
Cobra Kai – Season 6 Part 1
Starting July 18, the first part of the final season of Cobra Kai begins streaming. The season promises dramatic twists as John Kreese is on the run. Expect returns from all beloved characters, with parts two and three releasing later in the year and next year.
Skywalkers: A Love Story
This documentary, debuting on July 19, tells the story of Russian “rooftoppers” Angela Nikolau and Vanya Beerkus. Directed by Jeff Zimbalist, it showcases their daring climbs of some of the world’s tallest structures over seven years.
Elite – Final Season
On July 26, the Spanish teen drama Elite returns for its eighth and final season, continuing the high-stakes drama at Las Encinas private school. New faces include Ane Rot, Nuno Gallego, Alexandra Pino, and Mario Ermito.
