Millions of people have dreams of becoming an actress or a model. But, one brunette Victoria Secret’s model was discovered while shopping at GAP.
According to a report by the NYPost, Megan Puleri was discovered in the dressing room of a Gap in Columbus, Ohio three years ago. That’s where her parents ran into the chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret parent company Limited Brands and the man known for picking an choosing the Victoria’s Secret models, Ed Razek.
At first Razek warned that if he had a daughter he would not let her become a model. However, he changed his mind after Puleri’s parents showed him a picture of their 15-year-old Megan. “He said he wanted to meet me,” she recalls in an interview with the NYPost.
It would be three more years before Victoria’s Secret would choose her to join the company. “My agent and I talked about it multiple times, [assuming] that I wasn’t going to get it,” recalls Megan, who moved to a New York apartment near Grand Central Terminal in July with her mother. “[My agent] said it was the experience I was going for.”
While many other models will have to audition multiple times before landing a spot on the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It only took one interview before Victoria’s Secret gave the okay. Now, the Ohio native is sharing the stage with top models such as Alessandra Ambriosio and Lily Aldridge while living in the big city of New York.
