North Carolina extras casting director, Vanessa Neimeyer, killed in South Carolina.
A former extra casting director for several popular projects including “Under The Dome” was killed on Monday when a car drove through her home.
A car crashed through her basement just after 11:30 p.m. hit her while she was lying in bed, killing her. WYFF reported the vehicle, which crashed into Neimeyer’s house, was fleeing Highway Patrol troopers after failing to stop at a checkpoint. He led them on a chase that ended when the driver drove into her basement.
Neimeyer, who owned and operated NCasting, did extra casting for projects including HBO’s “Eastbound & Down,” “Bolden” and TNT’s “Good Behavior.” She reportedly moved away from the film industry to care for her grandparents, but she was remembered in the film community.
Kimmie Stewart, a fellow extras casting director, remembered Neimeyer in a Facebook post.
“Complete shock, disbelief & sad,” she said. “Vanessa & I have been friends for 13 years. We shared a love for Harry Potter, Richard Simmons & our NC Film Family. Please say prayers for her family.”
Chad Darnell of Chad Darnell Casting wrote, “Sending lots of love to all of Vanessa’s friends and family. I can’t imagine how difficult and how tragic this is. Sending much love.”
