A crew member has died following an accident on the set of Starz hit TV series Power.
Deadline reports Pedro Jimenez was fatally struck by an SUV at 4:30 AM ET on Monday while setting up parking cones for a Brooklyn location shoot for the Starz series.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” a Starz spokesperson told Deadline of the death of the 63-year old Parking PA. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”
Jimenez has worked on the show since the series first day of production, which debuted in 2014.
The NYPD officials say they are investigating the incident and have spoken to the driver of the 2006 Ford Explorer that hit the production assistant. According to Deadline, the driver was also a crew member of Power.
Power has shut down production out of respect for the family of Jimenez, which was informed of his death after he was pronounced dead by medical officials at Brooklyn Hospital.
Sources close to the situation told Deadline, halting of filming will allow the cast and crew time to mourn the loss of Jimenez.
No cast members were on set when the crash occurred as their call time was not until 7 AM ET.
There is no word when production will resume and it may be a while before the cast meets again as a planned holiday break was coming soon.

It appears James “Ghost” St. Patrick has it all — a drop-dead gorgeous wife, a stunning Manhattan penthouse, and the power and success that come with owning hot new nightclub Truth. But a closer look reveals a man living a double life. When Ghost isn’t tending to his Fortune 500 business, he’s catering to clients of another operation: a drug empire that serves only the rich and influential. While loyal sidekick Tommy protects the cash-cow narcotics venture at all costs, Ghost’s new reality is using Truth as more than a front to launder money. It’s a way out of the drug game and into a legitimate life with his family, even if everything he loves becomes unknowingly threatened. “Power” is co-executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (who also co-stars) and show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh (“The Good Wife”).
