Budweiser Super Bowl Commercial Sparks #BoycottBudweiser

Date:

#BoycottBudweiser is now going viral and here’s why.

A Super Bowl ad from Budweiser that focuses on how hard it is for an immigrant to travel to the United States and become a citizen has sparked a backlash.

The ad centers around the story of Budweiser’s German founder Adolphus Busch, who traveled to the U.S. in 1857, later teaming up with Eberhard Anheuser to brew the iconic American beer.

In the commercial, Busch is ostracized because he doesn’t “look like he’s from around here.” Despite the abuse, he goes on to launch a company and make history because “nothing stops your dream.”

While the commercial is a celebration of the American Dream and is not linked to Donald Trump’s immigration executive order ban, many people took to social media to criticize the company.
