Alfre Woodward Joins Cast of Marvels and Netflix’s ‘Luke Cage’

Marvel and Netflix’s ‘Luke Cage’ cast Alfre Woodward.

Netflix’s Marvel series “Luke Cage” has added Alfre Woodward to the cast, according to reports. While the details of her character have not been revealed, the new series will be the third series following Daredevil.

Mike Colter stars in Luke Cage and the series which will premiere after Jessica Jones. According to reports, Colter’s superhero alter-ego will first appear on Jessica Jones, which features Krysten Ritter.

“Fans have longed to see Luke Cage brought, and in Mike we’ve found the perfect actor,” said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel’s head of television, at the time of Colter’s casting. “Viewers will get to meet Luke Cage in ‘Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones,’ and experience why he is such an important super hero in the Marvel mythos.”

Luke Cage is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Afre Woodward has worked on several shows and movies including HBO’s True Blood and TNT’s The Last Ship.
