I Saw the TV Glow

Currently in theatres is this experimental horror movie produced by A24 and directed by Jane Schoenbrun, despite its initial lukewarm review.

Tarot

Formerly Horrorscope, this is another horror offering in circulation. It draws from a novel written by Nicholas Adams and pivots around a group of college friends whose deaths eerily mirror their horoscopes.

The Strangers: Chapter 1

Set to open on May 17, this film, directed by Renny Harlin, is part of a trilogy inspired by the 2008 film The Strangers. Madelaine Petsch of Riverdale features, and Lionsgate is set to release all the film’s installments during 2024.

In a Violent Nature

Slated for May 31, this film, written and directed by Chris Nash, offers a new slasher perspective as it focuses on the killer rather than the victims. It will be available on the Shudder streaming service after its cinema run.

The Exorcism

This Russell Crowe film is due for a June 7 release. It presents a distinct outlook on exorcism plots, with Joshua John Miller, son of Jason Miller from The Exorcist, serving as writer and director.

The Watchers

Coming out on June 14, this film marks the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of acclaimed director M Night Shyamalan. The film is set in the west of Ireland and centers around a group of strangers being pursued by strange creatures.

A Quiet Place: Day One

On June 28, fans anticipate the release of this spin-off/prequel of the successful A Quiet Place series. The film features superstar Lupita Nyong’o, and the plot revolves around alien creatures hunting humans in New York City.

MaXXXine

Arriving on July 5, MaXXXine, the third part of a film series collaboration between Mia Goth and Ti West, sees the return of Goth’s character Maxine Minx. Set in 1985, the story focuses on Maxine attempting to crack Hollywood.

Longlegs

Stream

Stream, set for August 21 release boasts special FX by Terrifier director Damien Leone and features a star-studded cast. The story revolves around a family being stalked by crazed murderers at a hotel.

The Crow

Given a release date of August 23, The Crow is a remake that aims to reintroduce the emotional concept devised by James O’Barr for the comic book series.

Beetlejuice 2

After 36 years, Beetlejuice returns on September 6, with Tim Burton once again at the directorial helm.

Speak No Evil

James Watkins and Blumhouse offer a psychological horror remake of the 2022 Danish film Speak No Evil, due for release on September 13.

Terrifier 3

On October 11, the highly-anticipated Terrifier 3, set at Christmastime and centering on Art the Clown, premiers in time for Halloween.

Smile 2
