Music

Whether you're a seasoned actor or a complete novice, music videos can be a great way to get your face out there and show off your acting chops. But before you can start booking those high-profile gigs, you need to know how to nail the audition.

Here are our top tips for acing your next music video audition:

  1. Do your research. Before you even step into the audition room, you must research the artist and the song you'll be auditioning for. Watch as many of their music videos as you can and take note of the style, energy, and tone that they typically go for. This will give you a good idea of what the director is looking for and help you to prepare your audition accordingly.
  1. Dress the part. Once you understand the artist's style, it's time to start thinking about what you're going to wear. Again, you want to ensure that you're dressing in a way that is consistent with the artist's image. If they typically go for a more edgy look, you'll want to dress accordingly. However, if they tend to be more laid-back and relaxed, you don't need to go overboard with your outfit. Make sure you're comfortable and confident in what you're wearing.
  1. Bring your energy. Music videos are all about energy and excitement, so it's essential. That you bring your A-game to the audition, be prepared to dance, move around and sell the song. The more energy you get, the better your chances of nailing the audition.
  1. Don't be afraid to improvise – If the audition calls for it, don't be afraid to improvise. This is your chance to show off your acting skills and take the character to the next level. If you're comfortable with it, go off-script and see where the feeling takes you.
  1. Have fun. At the end of the day, music videos are all about having fun. So even if you don't get the gig, remember to enjoy yourself and have a good time.
