Fox Studios film is holding an open casting call for Taika Waititi‘s new movie.
According to reports, casting company Des Hamilton, which has worked for films including This is England, is looking for a boy aged between 10 and 12 for the role.
The boy cast will be in a feature film directed by Taika Waititi, best known for films including Thor: Ragnarok and Moana.
The casting company say they are looking for “a quirky, working class, Caucasian boy, aged 10-12, preferably small for his age, with a distinctive look to play the lead role.”
The open call will be held at Jojo’s School of Dance in Buckingham Road, Margate, on Sunday, from midday until 5 pm.
Appointments do not need to be made and the audition will be an “informal brief chat on camera”.
Des Hamilton Casting says no previous acting experience is necessary and “whoever goes on to feature in the film will be well paid”.
Details surrounding the movie have not been released. However, according to IndieWire, Taika Waititi is teaming up with Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”) for a sequel to the What We Do in the Shadows, which was a horror-comedy about a group of vampires who live together in suburban New Zealand.
