UNCSA Short Film Open Casting Call for Speaking Roles
We are two alumni from UNC School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking, whom are shooting a short film in June. The project is a proof-of-concept short that we will be putting through the festival circuit as well as using as a pitch to make an expanded feature. The shoot will likely be 4 days total, probably split over 2 weekends. The film is about an extraordinary person attempting to live an ordinary life.
For casting call, looking for video submissions with provided sides. Please submit your name, contact information, resume, and character of interest. Will respond with sides. Submissions are for the purpose of casting only. Pay to be determined. Housing will be arranged, if necessary.
Casting Breakdown:
PHINEAS – Male, mid 20s to mid 30s. Intense eyes, sharp features. A superhero forced to leave amongst the humans. His intellect and desire to be more than mortal struggle against the mundane day to day tasks of the normal.
PENELOPE – Female, mid 20s to mid 30s. Aspiring singer/songwriter, desperate for the spotlight but devoid of the necessary talent.
TV INTERVIEWER – Male or Female. Any age. Cross between Diane Sawyer and Caesar Flickerman.
YOUNG BOY, 8-12, and MOTHER, late 20s to mid 40s.
