Do you want to audition for a role on the Empire spinoff? Well here is your chance.
Empire co-creator Lee Daniels is about to start shooting his new Fox TV pilot about the music industry, called Star, and auditions are open around the world. Star will center around the choices “these artists are faced (with) along the way, while showcasing the allure and heartache of the cut-throat music scene, and exploring cultural themes from a new perspective,” according to Fox.
Star’s TV pilot will film in December in Atlanta, Georgia. Do you have what it takes?
Here’s the open casting call details for Lee Daniels’ Star:
STAR: Character is a Caucasian female, 18 years old (actor must be 18 years of age or over). She’s a tough chick with a badass attitude.
ALEXANDRA: Character is an African-American female, about 20 (actor must be 18 years of age or over). She’s an elegant yet classic beauty. Alexandra wants to put this material world behind her so she can make real, authentic music.
SIMONE: Character is Half African-American Half Caucasian, Star’s younger sister, 16 years old (actor must be 18 years of age or over). Tragic and adorable.
COTTON: Character is a half African-American and half Latina transgender woman with a stunning look, 20 (actor must be 18 years of age or over). She has an especially keen eye for fashion.

According to Deadline, the new music-themed drama will start filming as soon as Empire wraps production in Chicago. The TV pilot was greenlighted by the network in August and stems from Lee Daniels’ overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television.
The new Star series is written and executive-produced by Lee Daniels and co-written/executive produced by Tom Donaghy, Star is set in Atlanta and centers on three girls – one White, one Black and one half White/Half Black — who are coming together to form a band and their rise to the top. It will center around the choices in which these aspiring artists are faced with as they work hard to acheive their dreams of stardom. Fox and 20th Century Television are launching the international casting search in order to find the four roles for the TV pilot.
