Haifaa Al Mansour’s short film is now casting speaking roles in Los Angeles, California.
Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming this May in Los Angeles, California.
Producers are hiring the following types:
- We need Saudi/Middle Eastern men and women of all ages from 5 years old to 75 years old.
- We are especially looking for a woman who can lip sync or sing a traditional Saudi wedding song (singing voice not an issue).
- We also need more grandparent types-women and men who are 55 – 75 years old.
About HAIFAA AL MANSOUR:
Haifaa Al Mansour is the first female filmmaker in Saudi Arabia and is regarded as one of the most significant cinematic figures in the Kingdom. She finished her bachelor’s degree in Literature at the American University in Cairo and completed a Master’s degree in Directing and Film Studies from the University of Sydney. The success of her three short films, as well as the international acclaim of her award-winning 2005 documentary Women Without Shadows, influenced a whole new wave of Saudi filmmakers and made the issue of opening cinemas in the Kingdom a front-page discussion. Within the Kingdom her work is both praised and vilified for encouraging discussion on topics generally considered too taboo, like tolerance, the dangers of orthodoxy, and the need for Saudis to take a critical look at their traditional and restrictive culture. CURRENTLY CASTING SAUDI/MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA! We’re working on a super cool project for HAIFAA AL MANSOUR, the first woman director from Saudi Arabia. We need Saudi/Middle Eastern men and women of all ages from 5 years old to 75 years old. We are especially looking for a woman who can lip sync or sing a traditional Saudi wedding song (singing voice not an issue). We also need more grandparent types-women and men who are 55 – 75 years old. If selected it will shoot one day, Sunday May 20th in LA. Rate of pay ranges from $500 – $200 depending on the role.
