Denzel Washington’s New Movie is Now Casting Featured Roles

Denzel Washington‘s new Netflix movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is now casting featured extras in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming between July 10th through August 6th. 

Producers are seeking the following types:

• We are looking for an 18-20 year old male to play a featured extra in the Netflix film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.

About ‘MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM’:

Denzel Washington revealed nearly a half-decade ago, his plans to produce 10 of August Wilson’s plays, which consists of 10 plays portraying the 20th century African American experience, from the early 1900s, just after slavery and the Civil War, to the 1990s, into feature films. He first started with the film adaptation of Wilson’s “Fences”.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.

We are looking for an 18-20 year old male to play a featured extra in the Netflix film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.

Pay is $200. Must be available approx. July 10 and August 6 in the Pittsburgh area. These dates could change so a flexible schedule is a must. This is a continuity scene so you’d need to be 100% available both dates. Must be available for a Wardrobe fitting, if chosen.

The Director is choosing from photos for this role so Please send a CURRENT picture ASAP to [email protected] if you have great availability. No Hats or Sunglasses in your picture. The year is 1927 so simple clothing is best.
