Sylvester Stallone Headlines Action Film Shot in Mississippi Coastal Cities.
This month, a high-octane action movie featuring Sylvester Stallone and a cast of Hollywood luminaries is underway in the locales of Pearlington and Waveland.
The film “Armored” revolves around a father-son duo employed as security guards for an armored truck. The narrative escalates when they find themselves tangled on a bridge, surrounded by a band of assailants on both ends, prompting a desperate struggle for survival.
Jason Patric, Josh Wiggins, and Dash Mihok are Joining Stallone in the cast, confirmed a Convergence Entertainment Group spokesperson.
Having established their operations in Mississippi for the past three months, the Beverly Hills-based production team recently wrapped up filming for “Cash Out 2,” featuring John Travolta and Quavo, in Biloxi.
Expressing their fondness for the Mississippi Coast, the representative emphasized that the chosen bridge offers unparalleled scenic vistas, though its specific name remains undisclosed.
Filming commenced at the Keesler Federal Credit Union in Waveland on Thursday, disclosed location manager Ted Voorhies, necessitating the closure of the branch for the day.
The representative noted that the Bay-Waveland branch was the sole local bank accommodating the filming crew.
Voorhies revealed that the film is being produced independently amidst an ongoing strike by actors in Hollywood.
In preparation, Voorhies has been scouring Waveland for suitable residences to feature in the film, as indicated in a circulated filming request letter shared with Waveland residents. Additionally, “Armored” has issued casting calls inviting Mississippi Coast residents to participate, including one for the churchgoer.”
According to Convergence Entertainment, filming in Mississippi will continue until the second week of October. They estimate a release date for the movie approximately a year from now.
