Taraji P. Henson’s new movie Hidden Figures is now casting extras to play freedom riders and civil rights protesters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Marinella Hume Casting is now casting extras to play civil rights protestors in Atlanta, Georgia. Filming will take place on Monday, March 21st in Atlanta and extras that are selected will be compensated $72/8.
According to the casting call, casting directors are looking for talent to play “Freedom Riders.”
“We are looking for AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN AND WOMEN – ages 18 – 45 – to play CIVIL RIGHTS PROTESTORS. We will be recreating a FREEDOM RIDERS-esque type demonstration. There will be police officers and LIVE CANINE UNITS!! The dogs will only be used on STUNT DOUBLES and will not interact with the BACKGROUND ARTISTS – HOWEVER – If you have an aversion to working with live animals (Most likely German Shepards) please DO NOT submit for this scene. We will have more opportunities available for you later in the film.”
About Hidden Figures:
Hidden Figures centers around an unsung group of African American female math wizards who helped NASA win the space race. While it’s just rumors at the moment, Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Empire’s Taraji P. Henson are expected to lead the cast in the upcoming feature film.
