Denzel Washington’s New Netflix Movie Open Casting Call

Denzel Washington‘s new Netflix movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is now casting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this summer 2019. Nancy Mosser Casting will be conducting the open casting call in Pittsburgh. Mosser Casting is known for casting movies, commercials, television, and industrials.

Producers are seeking the following types:

About ‘MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM’:

Denzel Washington revealed nearly a half-decade ago, his plans to produce 10 of August Wilson’s plays, which consists of 10 plays portraying the 20th century African American experience, from the early 1900s, just after slavery and the Civil War, to the 1990s, into feature films. He first started with the film adaptation of Wilson’s “Fences”.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.
