Steven Spielberg has two new movies coming soon, an Untitled Cold War Spy Thriller starring Tom Hanks and The BFG
Steven Spielberg has been under the radar since he dropped out of American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper.
Recently, Steven Spielberg has been attached to several new productions, but it has left many people wondering when the movies were actually going to get released.
An untitled Cold War spy thriller directed by Steven Spielberg will hit theaters on October 16, 2015.
Tom Hanks will star in the untitled drama, which is based on the true story of James Donovan, an attorney who finds himself in the middle of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on an impossible mission to negotiate the release of a captured American U2 pilot.
The Coen Brothers, the directors of Oscar Nominated Picture Inside Llewyn Davis, wrote the script for the production. Spielberg, Marc Platt and Kristie Macosko Krieger will produce.
The other production is a movie version of Roald Dahl‘s children book, The BFG which is set to release on July 1, 2016. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The live-action film The BFG will be based on the fantastical tale of a Big Friendly Giant who befriends a young orphan girl. Dahl’s book, illustrated by Quentin Blake, was first published in 1982.”
Dreamworks acquired the rights to the book in 2011.
