Deadpool and Wolverine are set to officially enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a thrilling development for fans. Director Shawn Levy, at the helm of Deadpool 3, hints at introducing more X-Men characters into the film. When discussing the highly anticipated first R-rated release from Marvel Studios, Levy emphasized that the movie will delve into the “Fox-Marvel Legacy,” acknowledging the bygone era of Marvel-based films under 20th Century Fox and their integration into the MCU.
In an interview with Total Film, Levy remarked, “Deadpool and Wolverine stand as emblematic figures within the Marvel universe, particularly within the Fox era of Marvel. We won’t simply brush aside the significant impact of that Fox legacy; it played a pivotal role in shaping what we now recognize as the MCU. Fox’s influence extended to shaping the careers of Ryan, Hugh, and myself. There’s a wealth of history there, including the extensive Marvel legacy at Fox, and undoubtedly, that will be woven into our narrative.”
While Jennifer Garner’s portrayal of Elektra has been confirmed, speculation surrounding Deadpool 3 suggests potential appearances from characters featured in the forthcoming Fantastic Four film, as well as the inclusion of Channing Tatum as Gambit.
