‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' reboot is coming soon.
According to reports, the new version will be a dramatic reboot of the hit Will Smith TV series and will be based on Morgan Cooper's viral video.
Cooper's viral video reimagined the NBC comedy series as a drama called “Bel-Air”. The video reached more than 5 million views on YouTube. Variety reports the show is getting pitched to multiple outlets including HBO Max.
Cooper will co-write and direct the series and will also serve as a co-executive producer. Chris Collins will work as the show's show runner and executive producer through Westbrook Studios. In addition, Quincy Jones, Benny Medina, and original series creators Andy and Susan Borowitz, will also work on the project. Westbrook Studios and Universal Television will produce the ‘Fresh Prince' reboot.
About ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air':
The series ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996 for six seasons and reached nearly 150 episodes. The show featured James Avery, Janet Hubert, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana M. Ali, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Ross Bagley.
The show helped launch Will Smith's acting career. He would continue on with several hit movies including “Independence Day,” the “Men in Black” and “Bad Boys”.
